Lafayette’s final stop in Massachusetts in 1824 was in the Towne of Sturbridge, where he was greeted by a martial band, the Town’s artillery company, and thousands of civilians. The commemorative event will take place at 6:00 pm on the Sturbridge common on the exact ground where Lafayette stopped.
