In 2025 and 2026, Massachusetts 250 will commemorate the many battles across the state that led to America’s independence. Experience the birthplace of American Liberty, where history was made, and the future was forged. In Massachusetts, we are embracing our history, the untold and little-known stories; we are celebrating our independence and innovations from the past 250 years. Join us – from the hills of the Berkshires to the Blackstone Valley, from the North and South Shore to the Cape and the islands – as we commemorate big events and untold stories and celebrate the revolutions still to come.

Henry Knox Trail 250 – Framingham

On July 4, 2026, our nation will celebrate the semiquincentennial anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Leading up to this historic birthday Revolution 250 was created. In keeping with this celebratory campaign, it is with great enthusiasm that we present the momentous commemoration of this country’s founding, Knox Trail 250. This sequenced program is designed to represent the Henry Knox Noble Train of Artillery of 1776, the catalyst for what we now recognize in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Evacuation Day.

Join us on February 8, 2026 at The Village Hall, Framingham Green

Noble Train of Artillery
The story of Henry Knox and Evacuation Day

As a part of Massachusetts 250th, the Henry Knox Artillery Trail traces the remarkable journey that helped turned the tide of the American Revolution.  From January – March 1776 Henry Knox led a daring expedition to haul 51 cannons across Massachusetts to General George Washington in Boston.  This video tells the story of the determination and ingenuity, linking communities along the route and reminding us how perseverance and collaboration helped secure America’s independence.

Henry Knox Trail 250 – Framingham

This sequenced program is designed to represent the Henry Knox Noble Train of Artillery of 1776, the catalyst for what we now recognize in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as Evacuation Day.

On the morning of January 10, 2026, along the Massachusetts and New York state border, there will be a ceremony representative of the official Knox handoff that occurred in December before embarking on the historic journey. In Massachusetts, starting in Great Barrington, going through over 33 towns, including locations in New York, a simulation of the journey would be celebrated in designated hubs.

This sequenced parade of regional recognition will incorporate the invitation and participation of town managers, local historians, celebrating the commemoration and respective connections in the Noble Trail of Artillery.
