U.S. Army Soldier Returns Home, Performs for the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington

WHO & WHAT:

Staff Sgt. Jay Healy, member of the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, will be back in his hometown of Lexington, Massachusetts, to perform for the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. Staff Sgt. Healy will be available for media interviews prior to the kick-off of festivities. 

WHEN:

Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Friday, April 18, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Lexington Battle Green

Media interested in an interview with Staff Sgt.   • “I have been involved in the fife and drum community for most of my life, and it’s an honor to continue that passion through my Army service with the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps. I am excited to be back in my hometown to celebrate this major milestone,” said Staff Sgt. Healy.
  • Staff Sgt. Healy began his musical career as a trumpeter in his elementary school band program and joined the William Diamond Junior Fife and Drum Corps as a fifer at the age of nine.
  • He graduated from Lexington High School in 2018 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College in 2022.
  • In 2023, he won the audition for The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.
  • He brings to the Army more than 15 years of fife and drum experience, having served as Fife Sergeant with the Middlesex County Volunteers Fifes and Drums and as a fifer with the Grand Republic Fife and Drum Corps and the George Mason Fife and Drum Corps.
