Sounding the Alarm, April 19, 2025

Old Parish Preservation Volunteers (OPPV) of Norwood, Massachusetts will be hosting a ceremony in Old Parish Cemetery on Saturday, April 19, 2025 beginning at 10:00 am. This event will commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the sixty men from South Dedham (now Norwood) who answered the alarm of April 19, 1775. Twenty of these men are interred in Old Parish Cemetery. Norwood’s Tilton Carillon in Norwood’s Town Hall will sound the alarm at 10:00am as Norwood’s Colonial Boys fife and drum corps lead the procession to the Old Parish Cemetery to place flowers on the graves of Patriots interred there. The public is invited to join the procession from Town Hall to the Cemetery.
