Celebrate America’s Semiquincentennial Anniversary.

In 1781, Massachusetts became the first state to officially recognize July 4th. Because the Commonwealth was the first to celebrate and the place where the Revolution began, it is the best place to mark this once-in-a-generation event. Our enduring spirit of revolution lives here today and for the next 250 years.

The Boston Pops

Together Massachusetts 250 and the Boston Pops will unite to honor the nation’s founding with top artistic talent.

This event will be broadcast nationally on CNN and regionally on WHDH.

2026 is a once in a generation milestone that will in part, celebrate and reflect on the founding ideals of 1776 through events across the Commonwealth.  There will be exhibits, reenactments, plays, murals and community gatherings.  The American Revolution started here and throughout the year we will embrace civic pride and remember the events that led
to our independence and to today.
