On September 3rd, Lafayette was welcomed into Worcester by a committee of arrangements led by Judge Levi Lincoln. Upon reaching the Paine estate, Lafayette passed under a “display of flags, as a national salute was fired and bells started ringing.”
The Worcester Chapter of the DAR, owner of the c1774 Paine House is excited to host an event from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, September 3rd. This outdoor event on the grounds of the Paine estate will feature attendees in historic costumes, readings, music, poems, and more.
