Sharing the Spirit of America! As the bells ring from Hingham’s Memorial Bell Tower, gather at the Old Ship Meetinghouse on July 8 – 250 years after the Declaration of Independence was first publicly read – to join a nationwide synchronized reading of America’s founding document. Readers will include Hingham leaders drawn from across the community to honor this historic moment. Consider walking to historic downtown Hingham with your friends and neighbors – as they would have in 1776! A reception will follow the reading at the Hingham Community Center, at 70 South Street.
