Springfield announces fourth of July event at Riverfront Park celebrating America’s 250th birthday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The City of Springfield is gearing up to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.

The annual Star Spangled Springfield is back, and the Spirit of Springfield is announcing what attendees can expect. The free, family-friendly event will take place at Riverfront Park on Saturday, July 4th.

The Spirit of Springfield is collaborating with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra for a live performance with 62 musicians. The last time the orchestra played during the Fourth of July event was in 1998. The orchestra will perform at 7 p.m., featuring a wide range of patriotic favorites, recognizable classics, and celebrated orchestral works.
