Sean Garballey co-chair of the Special Commission on 250th Anniversary Celebration of the American Revolution\, and members of Arlington Historical Society and Arlington 250 for a reading of the Declaration of Independence as it arrives in “old Menotomy”. \nThe faithful replicas of Ezekiel Russell’s 1776 Declaration were faithfully hand-printed by Gary Gregory using 18th cent. techniques in a project coordinated by Rev250 and will be sent to all 351 communities in Massachusetts. \nJoin us for its arrival and reading on the lawn of the Jason Russell House! (In case of rain\, event will move inside the adjacent Arlington Historical Society Smith Museum.)

DESCRIPTION:Tidy the Town for the 250th \nJoin the Arlington Tourism and Economic Development Committee and the community as we prepare the Town for the Semiquincentennial. \nThis moving battle down current day Massachusetts Avenue will commemorate the beginning of America’s fight for Independence. Join the Arlington Tourism and Economic Development Committee to help clean up the reenactment route and area of litter on Saturday April 5\, at 10 a.m. Meet at the Russell Common Municipal lot at the northwestern corner by Mystic and Chestnut streets. \nIf available\, please bring your own work/garden gloves\, trash bag and water bottle. A plastic bucket and grabber are also useful. Invite a friend or neighbor to join you or make this a family event in this community activity. Wear comfortable shoes as walking will be involved and bright clothing makes one more visible and safer. \nThe cleanup is planned to start at 10 a.m. -12 Noon or join later groups from 12 noon – 2 p.m. If heavy rain\, then rain date is following Saturday 4/12 same times.
