The Visitor Center and the Old House at Peace field are accessible by the MBTA Red Line via the Quincy Center station (0.5 miles). Visitors should leave ample time to travel between park sites.  \nOther than the guided tours of Peace field at 11 a.m.\, 1 p.m.\, and 3 p.m.\, these special talks and walks are free to attend and do not require reservations. Reservations for the special guided tour of Peace field and other guided tours are required for all visitors (adults\, including passholders\, and children) and may be obtained in person at the Visitor Center on a first-come\, first-served basis on the day of the tour. DESCRIPTION:Plymouth’s Annual 4th of July parade’s theme for 2026 is 250 Years & Beyond to celebrate our country’s birth. The day begins with the parade starting from Mayflower Business Park in North Plymouth to Plymouth Rock\, with an Patriotic evening concert with the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra and finishing with fireworks over Plymouth harbor at dusk. \n9am: Parade begins from Mayflower Business Park – 428 Court Street\, continuing along Court St and Main St to Water Street.\n7:30pm: Plymouth Philharmonic Concert at DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park – Plan to arrive at least 1 hour before the concert begins in order to find a parking spot and walk to the state park.\n9:15: Fireworks begin at Dusk. There are several viewing spots available throughout town in addition to DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park\, including Burial Hill and Nelson Park.

DESCRIPTION:In the colonial period\, and during the revolution\, dance and music became intertwined with politics\, religion and economics. The careers of William Turner\, a dancing master in Boston\, and Thomas Pike\, a dancing master in Philadelphia\, affected each other\, and were affected by the times. Jacob and Nancy Bloom will share primary sources that reveal the course of these masters’ lives\, and illustrate how important dance was to colonial America. They also include information on Mary Cowley\, a dancing mistress in Newport\, Rhode Island\, who managed to avoid political entanglements\, and taught dancing to the Americans\, British\, and French.

Participants will consider what it was like to live through these historic events and to contribute in small and not-so-small ways to the shaping of a new nation. \nAges 7-14 \nThere must be a minimum of 5 children registered for programs to run. Programs are limited to 24 people. \nFull payment is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable (unless program is cancelled by us due to under-enrollment). \nNo registrations will be accepted on the day of the program. One adult per family admitted free. \nIt is not a drop-off program – children must be accompanied by an adult. Strollers and backpack carriers are not permitted in the house museums.

SUMMARY:Plymouth in the Revolution: Loyalist Memorials and Revolutionary War Pension Applications
DESCRIPTION:Now that 2026 is upon us\, many Americans will have been conjuring up distant memories of high school history lessons – Bunker Hill and Saratoga\, George Washington at Valley Forge\, the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown to the tune of “The World Turned Upside Down.” Plymouth\, though\, is not a name that usually pops into people’s minds when hearing the words “American Revolution.” The Revolution\, though\, was far more than generals or battles. Plymouth\, like every small town in the thirteen colonies\, sent its men off to war. In choosing to follow those generals and fight in those battles\, they made the Revolution possible. Plymouth also saw some of its own vehemently protest the war; they too paid a price for their principles. \nHow can we retrieve the experiences\, the stories\, of these men? Some\, at least\, of the answers can be found in Loyalist Memorials & Revolutionary War Pension Applications. \nPlease join Peggy Baker as she explores the history of these extraordinary primary source documents and shares some of the stories of the Plymoutheans who submitted them\, as Plymouth remembers the Revolution during its 250th anniversary year.

DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to the Flag Sojourn 250 ceremony on National Flag Day\, Sunday\, June 14th\, 2026\, at 3:00 p.m. Plimoth Patuxet is hosting the ceremony on the pier of the Mayflower II on Water Street in Plymouth\, Mass. \nThe special U.S. flag used in this ceremony has traveled to every U.S. cemetery overseas\, all U.S. territories\, and\, soon\, every state in America. The flag will end its journey in Washington\, D.C.\, in July. \nFlag Sojourn 250 is a project of national unity from the National Flag Foundation and America250’s America Waves program\, an epic tribute campaign to the greatest American symbol: the American flag. National key programming partners include UPS\, the American Battle Monuments Commission\, and the National Sheriffs’ Association. The Plymouth ceremony is organized by Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald\, Jr.\, Plimoth Patuxet\, and See Plymouth.

SUMMARY:Open House with Martin House Farm
DESCRIPTION:The Colonial Dames of Massachusetts invite all to a sneak preview of the Martin House Farm\, before its summer opening.   Sometime between 1728 and 1734\, John Martin’s son\, John Martin the younger\, built a house for his wife and eight children consisting of a one-room dwelling with a loft above and an outside chimney.  Two additions were added in 1814 and in the late 19th century. \nVisitors today can enjoy the house which has not been physically altered since the last additions. It is now filled with collections from the Martin family who lived on the farm for 200 continuous years. The property also includes two barns and cultivated fields surrounded by dry stone walls and woodlands.
