DESCRIPTION:On September 3rd\, Lafayette was welcomed into Worcester by a committee of arrangements led by Judge Levi Lincoln. Upon reaching the Paine estate\, Lafayette passed under a “display of flags\, as a national salute was fired and bells started ringing.”\nThe Worcester Chapter of the DAR\, owner of the c1774 Paine House is excited to host an event from 11 am to 1 pm on Tuesday\, September 3rd. This outdoor event on the grounds of the Paine estate will feature attendees in historic costumes\, readings\, music\, poems\, and more.

The commemorative event will take place at 6:00 pm on the Sturbridge common on the exact ground where Lafayette stopped. \n  \nFarewell Banquet to be held at the Publick House in Sturbridge at 7:30 pm.
