SUMMARY:Songs of the Revolution with Diane Taraz at Reading Public Library
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy songs of the American Revolution with accomplished singer and dulcimer musician Diane Taraz\, as she shares historic music that became the rhythmic heartbeat of 1776. \nDiane presents songs that were enjoyed by both sides during the American Revolution\, exploring the fascinating world behind the lyrics. She sings and accompanies herself on mountain dulcimer and an instrument similar to the English guitar\, which was played by women in colonial times. \nFor years\, Diane Taraz has been writing her own songs and breathing new life into traditional ones. She brings a dry wit and a light touch to explain the intricacies of her music. Audiences listen entranced as she sings a cappella\, a challenging style at which she excels. Dirty Linen magazine calls her a “fine\, inventive guitarist” and she plays lap dulcimer with equal passion.
