The first tree was planted by 95-year-old Frank Brown\, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran\, longtime Northborough businessman\, and original owner of Brown’s TV. \n A Patriotic Opening \nThe program opened with a stirring rendition of the U.S. National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance\, led by Ms. Preanshi Charnalia. Emcees Jyoti Singh and Irena King guided the celebration through a full afternoon of tributes\, performances\, and ceremony. \n Honoring Those Who Served \nThe day’s emotional high point came with tributes to the community’s veterans. Frank Brown\, who also attended last year’s celebration\, was honored for both his wartime service and decades of civic contribution. Also recognized were Max Strickland\, a U.S. Navy veteran serving as Adjutant of American Legion Post 234 and Senior Vice Commander for District 4\, and veteran Richard B. DESCRIPTION:Independence Day Celebration – July 2nd at NARA Park\nThe Town of Acton is thrilled to announce the 2026 Independence Day Celebration!\nAdmission is free and open to all.\nThe event opens at 4:00 p.m. with local food vendors\, inflatables for children\, free access to NARA beach\, games\, live music beginning at 8:00 p.m. with a laser light show during the second set of the performance.\nUnlimited inflatable rides wristbands are $15 and can be purchased at the bathhouse snack bar.  \nBelow are a number of event details and answers to FAQ’s that will help prepare you for the event.\n1 – Event Location: NARA Park at 25 Ledge Rock Way in Acton\, MA \n2 – Parking: Will be provided onsite on a first-come first-served basis.\n•	Parking areas are located at 71 Quarry Road in the lot and ball fields.\n•	Accessible parking will be provided to those with a valid handicap parking tag issued by the Commonwealth (either license plate or placard) at the lot abutting the NARA Bathhouse\, 25 Ledge Rock Way.\n•	An onsite shuttle van will be provided to assist attendees from their vehicles to the NARA Amphitheater and Pavilion.\n•	Parking is prohibited on all surrounding streets and will be marked with No Parking signs. \n3 – What to Bring – What Not to Bring?\n•	Bags are permitted but are subject to search.\n•	Please feel free to bring chairs\, blankets\, and picnics.\n•	No tents\, pop-up tents\, canopies\, or umbrellas.\n•	Please bring sunscreen and bug spray.\n•	You may bring food and drink from home.\n•	Alcohol and drugs are prohibited.\n•	Leave hard coolers at home\, but soft coolers are permitted.\n•	No glass containers.\n•	No fire pits or grilling will be allowed\, per the fire department’s order.\n•	No sparklers or fireworks.\n•	No drones.\n•	There will be trash barrels\, but please consider taking home what you bring.\n•	Please keep your dog at home for their safety and the safety and comfort of others. \n4 – Will there be food?\n•	Yes. SUMMARY:Choral Evensong at Old North
DESCRIPTION:The Old North Church Congregation is pleased to offer traditional Choral Evensong on June 25 and July 3\, 2026. Each service will be held at 6:00 p.m. and lasts approximately 45 minutes. \nThe July 3 service will feature historic prayers for the nation on the Eve of the 250th Anniversary of American Independence. \nWorship services at Old North are open to all without charge. Free-will offerings are collected in support of the church’s ministries. Visitors are always welcome. Pre-registration is helpful for planning\, but not required. We seek to welcome all\, in keeping with our mission as a House of Prayer for All People. \nAbout Evensong \nAmong the liturgical treasures of the Anglican tradition\, Evensong dates to the Church of England’s first Book of Common Prayer\, composed by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer in 1549. Evensong was shared with the Episcopal Church following the American Revolution. \nCombining scripture readings\, sung canticles and psalms\, choral anthems\, and richly worded prayers\, it is a favorite in cathedrals and parish churches alike at the close of the day. Its particular choral style is uniquely characteristic of the Anglican Church and draws its origins from the sung liturgies of monastic communities of the early centuries of the church’s life. \nEvensong at Old North draws on the the Anglican cathedral choir tradition. The service is enveloped by the music of organist and choir which sings verses from scripture\, psalms\, biblical songs (canticles) and an anthem. Our prayers are inspired and transported by the striking beauty of the words\, silences and music\, and we add our own voice in saying the Amens and in singing the hymn. It is an ideal way to mark the end of a busy day and the transition into the evening time.

There are several viewing spots available throughout town in addition to DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park\, including Burial Hill and Nelson Park.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present candidates to the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts\, and they will pledge their Oath of Allegiance to the United States for the very first time.

DESCRIPTION:See the City of Fall River\, MA fireworks display in honor of the 4th of July from the deck of the USS Massachusetts (BB-59). Tickets are $15.00 per child ages 4-12 and $18.00 per adult ages 13+ (price does not include Fare Harbor processing fees). \nGates open at 7:00 PM. All guests will need to go through a security checkpoint prior to entry\, and all bags will be checked for restricted items. There is no smoking anywhere on the property. The fireworks are put on by the City of Fall River\, at 9:00 PM\, and the museum is not responsible for delays or cancellations.
