SUMMARY:Colonial Faire and Muster of Fifes and Drums
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate New England’s revolutionary heritage as historic Longfellow’s Wayside Inn hosts a Colonial Faire and Muster of Fife & Drums. From military drills to contradancing\, cooking and blacksmithing to 18th century children’s games\, engage with living history reenactors demonstrating life in MA circa 1775. The air will be filled with the music that helped inspire the birth of a nation\, as the grand parade steps off at 12:00. This will be followed by performances by 25 corps from throughout the northeast\, featuring the US Army’s “Old Guard” Fife & Drum Corps\, the presidential ceremonial honor guard from Washington\, DC. There will also be craft vendors\, as well as a food court and beer garden.

DESCRIPTION:● Sudbury 250 sponsors the Colonial Faire and Muster of Fyfe & Drum with living history demonstrations of life in colonial New England.\n● Join us on the grounds of the historic Longfellow’s Wayside Inn for a full day of music\, muskets\, history\, and fun.\n● 10 AM The Faire opens with a Colonial encampment\, militia and crafts demonstrations\, and contradancing. We expect dozens of colonial and craft vendors and 25 fife and drum corps from across New England and New York. Food is available on the field.\n● 12 PM The Grand Parade of fifes and drums will begin promptly at noon and will be followed directly by a performance by each of the corps attending. The muster is a celebration rather than a competition: The corps are appearing by invitation and attend to share their music and friendship. \nThe Sudbury 250 Committee cordially invites Sudbury residents of all ages to our fall 2025 programs. The events are uniquely Sudbury and deeply rooted in the American Revolution. Each fun and festive program is FREE to the public and offers valuable insight into our nation’s history.

Youths ages 17 and under are free. Multiple additional discount options are always available\, including student\, military\, senior\, and EBT. \nGetting to the JFK Library\nParking is free at the JFK Library. \nA Paul Revere shuttle bus will be running from the JFK/UMass MBTA stop on the Red Line to the JFK Library. \nSensory Flexibility\nAdaptive maker activities and a Flexible Calming Space will be available for anyone who needs a break at any time. This is an inclusive program and people both with and without disabilities are always welcomed. \nSecurity\nTo make your experience safe and enjoyable\, the JFK Library takes the safety and security of all guests\, staff\, and visitors seriously.
